It really doesn't matter.
If he likes you too, he won't care.
The only thing you have to worry about is being rude
or sending false signals. (guys get confused when women
give off ambiguous signals)

I would think you would not want to keep it short and sweet? if you like him try having longer conversations to let him know you are interested.

Don't ask him questions, give one word answers, say you have a lot to do and you'll talk to him later.
