I was reported for the same answer on a question very similar to that. Another of those How do I post a question on Yahoo Answers? questions

I find it best just to avoid those types of questions altogether because, clearly, they are trolls, and they already know how to do it

As the first asker said, you didn't answer the question, which makes it a "violation of Q&A format" (see http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD... ). An answer has to be stated explicitly here on the site, not just alluded to.

Opinion is divided on "How do I post a question on Yahoo Answers?" questions. I recall Y!A themselves said at one point that they're OK because the Q&A is (if genuinely answered) is actually knowledge-worthy to future readers. They are, however, widely viewed as trolling - particularly if the asker has already posted questions, and knows perfectly well how to do it.

You didn't actually answer the question. Those very often tend to be trolling questions anyways, so it best to avoid them.

Violation question and answer format you didn't attempt to answer the question as asked. although the question is inane, in future you would best to either answer properly or ignore and move on.

It was not an answer: misuse of the format. You told the asker what they did. You did not answer the question.
