As you watch all the drama unfold surrounding the IRS is it becoming clear to you?

Why the Obama Administration picked the IRS as the one to administer Obama Care. Additionally as you respond and, or think about that ask yourself if this is the possible explanation as to why they want to collect all kinds of data not normally associated with health care during the application process and claims adjudication process.Something to think about, thanks in advance for your thoughtful answers/comments I'll be interested in reading them....

I think Obama chose the IRS because Americans are already afraid of the IRS and when it comes to the IRS you are considered guilty and it is up to you to prove that you are innocent.

How very interesting. I was about to ask whether it should be called the Hall of Fame or the Hall of Shame. I used to take a few months off every year now; Now I'm retired with "All" taxes paid only to find I'm being taxed again and my co-pays are increasing with an expanded list of uncovered procedures. No drama just fact. Fact that I'm not happy to be experiencing, my right denied by the Not Seeing what they are doing to the majority.

The IRS is not going to handle any kind of application or claim process. For one thing, there is no government plan.

All insurance is through private insurers.

The IRS will ask you on your tax return if you have health insurance, and if not, why not.

There will be a list of exceptions such as religious beliefs.

There will also be table to compute if you owe a penalty for not having insurance. That is it.

ovomit wanted the IRS to be the one to actually run ovomit care as between the medical records and how much money you actually have, as you have to give them your tax returns as well just shows that they would be able to go after anyone or group of Americans like they are doing now.

All I know is that this may be ovomits Waterloo. And that would be a great thing as this may be the only way to stop ovomit.

No, I think that it was more or less response to the desire not to add another layer of bureaucracy to the system given we are suspicious of government right now. Since this has to do with money and income eligibility for assistance on the federal level, and the IRS already deals with this, its sensible to put it there rather than start a new agency. What's invasive and burdensome to some isn't to others, and the fact was and is, that our system of offering and paying for medical care is/was severely broken. We have a great system when you can afford it, and needless suffering and deaths when you can't.
