Never worked for me!
I found that if I had a good meal, a bit of exercise, then sat down in a quiet room, no disturbances,
and just hit the books.
Made a list first of the main points required for a pass, then made sure that they were included in my study plan.
Always got good grades, always made sure I understood the subject.
Then go to bed early before your exams, and get a good rest....

Yes and no. The more you study the more it helps, but only if you're actually absorbing what you're studying. If you're just reading what went on in the Civil War or if you're just reading on how to divide fractions, but you're thinking about the exam and getting stressed over it while reading, you're not studying, and you're never going to be able to remember it when the exam comes. So if you're up at 2 am studying, you're most likely way too tired to absorb the studies, especially if you went to school that day. And if you have the school the next day, you can't stay up late to study, because you need your rest for school! As I said, the more you study and really absorb it the better it is, but you're likely to forget everything if you're yawning and napping during the exam because you were up past your 'bedtime' last night, studying.
Good luck and relax-go to sleep an hour or 2 earlier and remember-it's OKAY. If you're falling behind in a subject, ask for help, otherwise-HAVE FUN.

Actually staying up late to study isn't a bad idea unless you over study. Try to spend time on other things as well as studying. Take breaks every hour or so to make sure you're not over studying. I wouldn't recommend all nighters if you have an exam in the morning because your mind will not work as well as it would if you had gotten a night's sleep. Good luck!

I found in my case I was much more productive in the early morning than late at night. So instead of trying to stay awake until 3 am studying, I would go to sleep at 11pm or 12, and set my alarm to 4:30 am and study in the morning before classes.

Big mistake. What have you been doing all year/semester??? The damage has been done. You should have been studying all along and that way you would have known the material without having to cram. Now you need to stay up, lack sleep and set yourself up for the problems. If you have the time study in short periods to lessen the anxiety. Cramming just leaves your mind jumbled. Next time study weekly. and you will do better. Even if you have a job and all, shorter periods of study time are easier on the brain!

Psychological studies have been done on that and concluded that it makes things wrose.
You will lose the info because you have not truely retained it. All you are doing is wasting valuable sleep time :/
For some it may work, but that's prob because they have total recall or they obsorb info well under pressure.
Coffe will only make it wrose too. Unless you are ADHD and your body responds opposite to stimuli. Coffe will only crash your concentration and excellerate your heart (coupled with the lack of sleep), this will only make you less likely to recall the info you divided you attention into.
In conclusion, it may work for a few, but craming only hurts. The only good it does is makes you feel slightly more confident that you did SOME studying....
I've been there and have had both failure and sucsess.... so good luck! :3

I think waking up early in the morning after a decent sleep will help you grasp the stuff faster. You can get up at like 3:30 or 4 am may be. Just freshen up and study. It can work wonders.
