do i need ported box?

2 12' 1600 watt audiopipe should i get ported or sealed box?

    It depends.

    - get manufacturer's recommendations ...or

    - get your sub's parameters (Qts,Fs,Vas), use below calculator, try options for best response and realistic box volumes.

    Depends mainly on size vs. loudness. Closed boxes are most common & require less space. You'll also get a tighter punch, but not as loud.. Ported boxes are usually almost twice as large, less punchy, & almost 2x as loud.
