Can someone please explain the movie "Inception" to me?

well, i suppose the movie explained SOME peoples religious beliefs. many believe that the earth is going to be destroyed. so at the end "angels" came down to earth and took the children to populate another planet because earth had become too wicked. at the end the tree is supposed to symbolize the tree of life, a tree that was found in the garden of eden. adam and eve had the CHANCE to eat from the tree of life but they were not faithful so that opportunity was taking away. it symbolizes life forever on a paradise. so the tree of life being found on the new planet showed that God was creating a perfect world on a different planet again where mankind could live on a paradise earth and everyone would live forever. but of course, that is only some people's beliefs.

Basically, they have to go into dreams and dreams of dreams to change the mind of someone who is in control of a large corporation, so then he'll break it up and end a potential monopoly. But the main guy's wife (or rather, a dream version of her) keeps coming back to try and threaten their plans, since the main guy can't get over that he played a large role in her suicide and loss of sanity.

It is a sci-fi, psychological thriller dealing with Dom (DiCaprio) issues with the memories of his dead wife infiltrating his dreams. His job is to infiltrate other peoples dreams and plant or steal ideas and in for nation. The trick to do this is to arrange to have his victim go into another dream within a dream or even further to disorient his victim.
