Do people in England realise that it's not just the SNP that seek Independence for Scotland?

Does anybody south of the border understand that simply believing Scotland would be better off as an Independent country doesn't automatically make you an SNP supporter?

Support for Independence comes from several political parties and several political groups just as support for the Union comes from several political parties and several political groups.

This question comes because several questions have appeared today equating the protest from The Radical Independence Movement against Farage with the SNP.

I can't believe that England has become that politically naive. Tell me it isn't so.

Update:

*edit* Thanks for answering Jackie M, but the answer you give bears no relation to the question.

Update 2:

*edit* No, it doesn't come as a shock to me. What does shock me is how easily *some* of the population is swayed into believing a skewed version of events. Scary that.

Update 3:

*edit* Cephalopod, you seem angry. I don't know why but you should watch that. It's not good for the blood pressure.

Update 4:

*edit* Christopher, thanks for answering the question. No I couldn't explain how UKIP success in Norfolk was influenced by the plans to build an incinerator. That's sort of the point. If I did want to pass comment on it I would endeavor to find out a little about it before I did so.

There are a large number of small, fringe political parties and movements all over the UK - it is hardly a sign of naivety not to know the details of most of them, given how little influence they have in the political process. Certainly of the four main parties in the Scottish Parliament the SNP support independence, with Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem opposing it. I haven't heard the official Green opinion about it.

I am English, I take an interest in politics, have been actively involved in the past, and follow much of the media coverage - but this question is the first time I have ever seen or heard a reference to the Radical Independence Movement. Could you explain to me how UKIP success in Norfolk was influenced by the plans to build an incinerator? Where I live that is more important that the latest little political spat in Scotland.

I have no idea a lot about politics and things.. However I think that its viable, sure.. I think that Scotland would do it, yes they'd in finding it elaborate but I reckon they could come through it. Commonly being linked to england is a burden and then generally its excellent for us scots! To be honest I believe that its generally now not a just right notion [although i love scotland and am completely for our country] however the divide between scots and english is unhealthy already, i am factor that the contention would simply worsen and correct now, despite the fact that some humans surely warfare between themselves, its reasonably peaceable with us accepting every other. Simply seem at your mothers and fathers - scottish and english - however they married and had kids and that i anticipate are joyful. Now we have come far from the occasions of say, William Wallace.. Now if I was once in that point.. I'd have a much much less fair opinion of the whole trouble!

For some reason and i have no idea why, it appears if Scotland does not agree with England on a topic, it makes you racist, a fascist and anti English, and all this is orchestrated by the SNP. I blame the media as they do not give a balanced view on what is happening in Scotland in other parts of the UK. As this is were the majority of English Pele get their information on Scottish politics, what do you expect? they only know what the media allows them to know as they don't look outside the English media.

Once again jackie m shows her complete lack of Knowledge regarding territorial waters based on international law, really is a ridiculous argument, even the better together campaign don't say it isn't Scotland's oil. If she watched last nights debate on STV, (something English people won't even be aware took place, by no fault of their own) she would realise that she is talking mince, Micheal Moore admitted Scotland would be financially stable as an independent nation and scotland raises more than it spends and Scotland's debt share is lower the the UK's. By her logic who would want to invest in the UK with over a trillion of debt.

I really don't know whats going on in England regarding this, they haven't the slightest clue of Scottish politics never mind Scottish based party politics, its just another example of how Scotland and England are drifting further and further apart each day, They seem to be in denial that Independence is a cross party policy in Scotland.

This might come as a shock to you but this isn't a topic people elsewhere in the UK can generally be bothered to even have an opinion about.

So to quote my late mum whenever dad ranted about something or other, "I don't know what you're on about but I'm sure you're right"

Are you aware that England WANTS you to become Independent and be done with Scotland?

The pro independence vote is bigger in England than it is in Scotland, but I'd want a proper border so you couldn't run away from Scotland to England when it goes " t!ts up".

Also, ALL Scottish politicians must be sent back to Scotland, this include Galloway, Blair and Cameron!!

    Edit

Lol, no not angry, just bored with Scotland and happy to see them go.

How would we be better off if we got Independence? They raise our taxes, cut benefits for pensioners, charge for uni and no student finance, end unemployment benefit, want us to pay for medical treatment etc, there is no way we will be better off, it might sound good but read deeper into the policy of being independent, sure they want us to be like Norway when they became independent but Norway didn't have any debt so other countries wanted to inves in them, would you invest in Scotland with billion of pounds of debt? What do we own? we don't own much because they have been signed over to the government in London which includes our north sea fishing and oil rigs, what does that leave us with? not a lot, even our passport office is run from Newcastle? Myself and everyone I know who are all older generation will move to England if we get independence as all that will be left will be corner shops and the unemployed. If the people in England could vote to get us independence they would but don't realise they are going to make things worse for themself? Good Luck

Do you realise that the so called 'independence' that you are being offered involves joining the authoritarian European Union? Surely you are not naive enough to think you will be independent. Your glorious leaders are playing games with you and Mr Salmond works for the EU. Yes it is very Orwellian.
