What does it mean when eBay says 'funds pending'?

FIRST What you want to do is keep your eyes on PAY PAL like a hawk ...this is where you find out if his payment has come through or not.Ebay will tell you if the funds have been paid or not only when PayPal has got the money...so ignore eBay at this point ...pay pal is your first port of call.

Sometimes there are time delays due to Internet speed...give it an hour after the invoice has been sent..if no reply or payment after an hour or so then send another...if still NO MONEY COMEING THROUGH TO PAYPAL THAT HAS CLEARED THEN DO NOT SEND THE ITEM UNTILL BUYER HAS PAID OR MONEY HAS CLEARED AND IF ITEM STILL DOES NOT have money clearing ....THEN GO ONTO EBAY CUSTOMER SERVICES AND THEY WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH STEPS FROM THERE AS YOU MAY HAVE TO OPEN A CASE ETC

SECOND you must check on everything the buyer does ie any invoices that come back to you on PayPal details and on eBay details they are different sites so check bothe and if you are unsure how to do this contact eBay and PayPal they will guide you through it.check that the buyers address is same on all details and that buyers name is same on all details ...if for example there are different addresses or names ...alarm bells should ring and to protect yourself what you need to do is A.email the buyer and inform them in a polite manner that you can only do an invoice via PayPal and get his phone number call him ask him for his email. ( as eBay will not let you send emails through there site of names of your private email) when you have his email go into PayPal and go under request payment follow steps and PayPal will invoice him it will be legit he can not scam you...but this is only so if you send item first class recorded tracked and signed for...ask PayPal if you are unsure they will guide you

Ebay Funds Pending

Just a heads up, in the future--never ship while funds are pending. It means one of two things; either the buyer's bank has not cleared the transfer (maybe a has a block on the account-the money is there, but it cannot be spent, or the transaction initially approved, but there are no funds available to transfer). it could also mean that you have a block on your account. The money may be there, but you cannot touch it for a period in case someone makes a claim against your account. If this is the case, you would have received plenty of notice from paypal before this. Hopefully, it will clear in the next day or so. Good luck!

You should ship your item the day or next day that the buyer pays for the auction.

If you have a printer you can use, go pack your item ready to ship, then go into your ebay account and click beside the auction PRINT SHIPPING LABEL, then weigh your package and set the shipping options, then upon printing the label hit the PAY LATER options, this will release for you inside your paypal account up to $15.00 to use out of your pending funds in order to allow you to ship your item.

If you dont have a printer you can always go to the library and use their computers for free to go into your ebay account to print the label.

if you have to take it to the post office be sure to get a tracking number to give to your customer to prove delivery to them.

AS SOON AS YOU GET PAYMENTS FOR YOUR AUCTIONS FROM NOW ON USE THIS ADVISE UNTIL THEY NO LONGER PEND YOUR FUNDS. AND ALWAYS SEND PACKAGES OUT WITHIN 24 HOURS OF PAYMENT TO YOU NOT 7 DANG DAYS LOL

sorry u messed up. pending funds mean u got zero. u sent package to some one that hasn't paid and may not. put it in "loss" column and check hard life lesson box. never ever send until funds are received. good knowledge is good luck.
