What's the best tablet under $200?
I love the iPad, but it is out of my price range. So, I have started looking at other brands, and am not sure which to lean towards, as all seem to have problems, and fall short. For the price, I know that they will fall short, so, that question goes back to you- which is best? I've seen Kindle Fire HDs (longer battery life than regular Fire is my reason for looking) refurbished with a warranty for about $100 delivered on one website, and I'm partial to my Kindle Touch. Mainly, it would be for reading, emails, surfing the web, and such.
I'd prefer to buy from an established US company that is well known. It's a lot of money to me, and while the site Korn sent me to seemed okay, I just know nothing about them, or their products. Thanks, guys!
I'm concerned with the comment Blayde made about the quality of the tablet (Nexus 7), if dropped. 90% of the time, it will be used on carpeting, and not leave the house, but it's that 10% that I am worried about. Does anyone else know about the quality/durability issue?
Thanks!
The $100 Kindle HD (refurbished) is from a well known national site. It includes a one year warranty, so I feel comfortable buying it.
I played with a Nexus yesterday, and did like it, but was wondering if anybody else had heard of issues with the quality.
Is it better to get a new item, or invest about the same amount in an iPad 1 or 2? Or another used tablet? So many seem to have similar features, so it boils down to quality, perhaps? Not really looking at the camera aspects, because my phone and digital camera are usually close by. Someone suggested www.Cowboom.com as a source for used computers/tablets, as it is a division of Best Buy, I understand? So would you go new or pre-owned or refurbished?

The Kindle Fire HD is pretty good. You can see a comparison table here on all the most popular tablets in the market. The Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD are the best for the price limit, and they are even better than the more expensive iPad Mini:

The Kindle Fire HD has dolby audio speaker, dual antenna WiFi, and HDMI out. It's great for videos, gaming, etc. It also has very good screen resolution and anti-glare screen, it's won't be bad for reading on it as well.
