Do people come up with elaborate metaphysical arguments for the existence of rocks?
Not really. The existence of rocks is so obvious that metaphysical arguments are not needed. So why does the Christian god need all sorts of metaphysical proofs for his existence?

According to John Locke, George Berkeley and other great philosophers, the existence of a rock is not so obvious. Think about it, how can you be so sure that a rock as you perceive it, is actually anything like the actual object? Everything you look at is reconstructed by your brain, therefore what you are seeing is NOT the object, but your brains reconstruction of it.
Now when it comes to God, some people can't believe in something they have no proof of... Do you believe in God? Why or why not?

Because if you want to 'prove' something exists, that actually doesnt exist, you turn to meta-physics.

God doesn't need proof, you are demanding proof on your terms and God simply ignores you..
