Did an hour long car ride hurt my rats?
I have two male black hooded rats, roughly 3 months old. I've had them for about a month, and they're usually very affectionate with me. Today, I moved out of college. They stayed in their big cage until the last minute, and then I put them in their transport box. The car ride home was about an hour or so, and I made sure to keep the air on, along with the windows cracked to keep fresh air flowing. As soon as I got home, I set them back up in their cage. I left them alone for a little to settle down, and when I came to them an hour or so later, they seemed startled by me ad very standoffish. They're eyes are also bulging a bit. Their appetite seems normal, and they'll let me hold them. They just seem a little lethargic compared to their usually hyperactive personalities.
I'm a novice rat owner who is deeply in love with her new pets. Any advice or calming words will help! Thank you :)

they should be just fine, they're probably just freaked out from the trip c:
rats tend to do the "bulging eye" thing when they are startled. as long as they are not physically harmed, are eating and drinking, they are okay! if they stop eating or drinking, they need to be seen by a vet. other than that they are most likely just fine.

I suggest you should see the vet. Most rats usually get car scared as its a moving vircle and its not their usual habitat. Some rats also are just a bit funny for a day or two at the max because they are small animals that don't like cars, it makes them feel unsafe and scared. Try out 1 or 2 normal days and if they are stuff bulging see the vet

YES. Your rights have the "Traumatized of car rides" syndrome. It's very common in black hooded rats around the age of 3 months. I suggest you see a vet immediately!
