What's the point of "free will', if the end game is divinely fixed?
.
Do I (per se) have enough 'free will' not to be subjected to divine will/law, heaven or hell, reunion with 'God' or whoever that other character is in charge of eternal damnation, living my days as an 'imago Dei' with no possibility of transcendence, .......?
Doesn't 'free will' in Christianity [Abrahamic religions] essentially equate with 'eternal divine bondage'?

it helps to form an illusion that makes the hostage situation more tolerable.....at least that's the way Abrahamers teach it.
To me, the whole "free will, god loves us" nonsense looks a bit like Stockholm syndrome.

What God would have for us is most brilliant.
The end game? What end game? There are fundamentally consequences whichever way.
Only God can do God's will the mostest. I personally, shall aim to do as God would have me do... God speaks to us all in many ways, such as voices, dreams, visions and so on.
Free will operates out of choice, free will is thereabouts the devil's will, to me personally. It's an apple genesis story again. Do not accept apples from the devil. Do not accept apples from the devils. Ask God about apple of LIFE, & apple of KNOWLEDGE. Do not take from the centre tree. God so knows. Ask God first.
Many of my braincells seem to think they have a will, when in fact, all they have is volition.
God knows. Will is fundamentally bad, I personally wouldn't go along that route. Grace is most superior. Grace comes at Grace speed. Thanks be to God.

It's fanciful to believe that anything about your life is predetermined.
Greek mythology has the Fates weaving the events of our lives, but
that is just imaginative bunk.
Secondly, there are no divinities. Gods are like ghosts, angels,
vampires, zombies, and fairies at the bottom of your garden -
purely fictional beings.
People need to check their calendars. It's 2013. We are well
out of the Dark Ages. It's time to join the adults now.

To me, I look at God's free will as like a kid and a cookie jar. If a mother sets a cookie jar in plain sight of a kid, she knows wether or not he will get a cookie or not (by the way she raised him). But the fact that the child doesn't know what the mom knows, makes the kid think "should I, or should I not get the cookie?"
Now with life, eternity in heaven is the cookie. God (the mother) already knows what you're going to choose, because he knows how you've been raised, and taught. And humans are the child, debating whether it not to take Heaven or not.
So yes. It is free will. The fact that he already knows what you're going to choose has nothing to do with your choice.

Hi there
As it is, life and death have always remained a choice. The penalty for any transgression is death, always has been.
Try standing before a judge when you are caught with murder on first degree. But you had free-will. An offense has always been followed by judgement. You can't be justified when you are already guilty.

You are responsible for your actions.
Often people have been killed in the name of God then any other cause.
Unfortunately this was not due to the word of God. You must not choose your way of life based on what some other people are doing.
God knows your heart and I pray that He guides you. Please know that the judgment day is coming and you still have time to prepare. God did not create you for no reason. You have a choice to go to hell or heaven. You are responsible for your actions.
You are not a sinner by design and Jesus did not die for sins of others. This is not fair and God does not hurt anyone for sins of others.
Please use your head and choose wisely, decide now before your time is up.
Do not wait for Jesus, as he is not coming back, at least not according to Quraan and common sense (though most Muslims and all christians believe he is coming back).
Read Quraan, Know the facts.
10:36 But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do.
53:28 But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.
47:14 Is then one who is on a clear (Path) from his Lord, no better than one to whom the evil of his conduct seems pleasing, and such as follow their own lusts?

you might actually be surprised how you have no free will. Christians say you do and many people think they do, but all the devil cares about is that you are not as holy as God and righteous. If we had free will, THIS DAY, we could all walk pure as him and righteous...IMPOSSIBLE, which means we are slaves to sin, and the devil will make sure you serve him.
You will find how greatly deceived you are to think being as holy as him and righteous is bondage. There is so much love in Gods ways and beauty and the devil will make sure you know nothing of love and his ways.
It is possible to know Gods ways Rom 3:11,18, job 28:28 Prov 9:10. The fact that no one understands holiness and how hard the devil makes sure no one does........there is so much beauty in his ways.

Free will doesn't exist in the Bible. If a Christian says God gave us free will. They are ignorant of what the scriptures teach.
@Sarah but what you have described still isnt free will. the choice made by the person has all kind of influences that cause him to choose what he does. What you have described is how a person can be held accountable for their action since it is them making the decision but that has nothing to do with whether or not its a "free will" choice

You have the free will to believe in god or get sent to hell for eternity
Kind of like you have the free will to give me your wallet or I kill you. Your choice, free will.
