Degree in ....what. to research, and study infectious diseases?

What kind of degree do I need, or what do I need to do to work in a BSL3 and BSL4 lab researching and studying infectious diseases to work to try and find vaccines and isolate diseases.

    For ID labs, most people working there are Ph.Ds. You'll need at least a master's degree. You may also consider doing an MD/Ph.D program, but you can make that decision later on in college. For college, you'll probably want a bachelor's in science, majoring in biology, biochem, or molecular biology.
