Where and when can I buy fresh figs in the metro Detroit area?
I have looked everywhere and can only find figs that are dried or frozen. Maybe they just aren't in season? or perhaps I am looking in the wrong place

Randazzo's fruit market is the place that would have what you are looking for.

You have to buy them in season. They aren't like bananas that will ripen after they're picked. They are usually available in early summer. I would guess that Whole Foods or Hiller's would be your best bets to find some. Maybe at Eastern Market, or some of the Farmer's Markets as well.
Oh yeah, Randazzo's is a good answer! Been away from the east side too long, forgot all about them.

Don't know where you live, but I saw some at Colasanti's Market in Milford on Monday.
