Why do Liberals preach the benefits of "diversity" then refuse to accept political diversity?

What makes you think certain rightwingers don't want the same? All parties and groups have their fundamentalists (that's right, I'm talking to you limbaugh) so singling out a few selected liberals and claiming that anyone who follows the philosophy is short-sighted is bigotry.

edit - I know that your edit isn't meant for me, and I'm not a liberal since I don't like labeling myself as anything, But I'm insulted by the fact that you're preaching fallacies about the personalities of people with certain beliefs about how a country should be run. Two aspects that have absolutely NOTHING in common with each other. So when people say "Why are republicans all racists who want gays to be shipped to Canada?" or "Why do you liberals have no moral system?" I just really cringe, because you simply CAN'T assume anything about a whole group of people unless you've met every single one of them on the face of the earth. Of course, if someone however tells you that they're a nazi you should have a good reason to be cautious around that person, haha.

I don't know. What's the difference between liberalism and conservatism? Whats wrong with just being an American and upholding the well-being of the People and protecting the Constitution. If we could operate the way the founders intended to operate, by protecting the law and in those confines of the law make great advances for the people, then their would be no necessity in arguing for diversity. If it makes society better, do it. If it doesn't, don't do it. Be open to debate, but in the same spirit, keep an open mind to the truth.

They are Advocates of a policy that empowers a strong federal government to enslave its people with a high tax burden incident to the support of extravagant and unnecessary social programs destructive to both the work ethic among the lower class, and the incentive to innovate and succeed among the working class.

Good question, I'd like to know how they can call me racist for saying the cost of the "affordable care act" has been revised UP at least three times, but do not consider themselves racist for calling Herman Cain, pizza boy or Uncle Tom or Mike Steele a token or the comments made about Mia Love and COL West.

That and it seems the more liberal a place is, the Whiter it seems to get (and more dangerous for Blacks to be in especially at night).

There is nothing wrong with political diversity. However when members of a party lie constantly about every member of the other party, from the president on down, then that's a problem.

i've got in no way heard christian extremists communicate approximately executing gays. i'm a christianity-hating atheist, yet i've got in no way encountered that time of hatred from the severe christian wing. Heck, even the WBC would not say that. on the different hand, islam is crammed with loopy, backward, goat-rapers who like to behead people who do issues they do unlike. i assume, the ideal component for liberals to do is to flow to, say, Iran or Afghanistan, and then flow to a small village and kiss a member of a similar intercourse in public. Then they might journey the tolerance of the faith of peace, first hand.

Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean that they don't believe in your right to have your own opinions. It is to bad that for many on the right religious and otherwise feel hat not agreeing with their beliefs is the same as intolerance. You have the right to believe anything you choose and I have the right not believe as you do. This doesn't mean that I am persecuting you only that I am following my own path and it has nothing to do with you.

I believe it was Justice Holmes that said "The true test of ideas is their ability to gain acceptance in a free and open market place."

Disagreement is not intolerance anymore than forced conversion is salvation.

I'm a liberal and I do accept political diversity. Don't make these ludicrous generalizations when you don't know how most liberals think.

It does seem that in the past 5 or 6 years they have lost any toletance for different opinions. It has made rational discussion increasingly difficult.

Political diversity does not include lying 24/7 like conservatives do.
