What makes a driver vanilla?

NASCAR fans and even a reporter on espn.com have said Jimmie Johnson is vanilla. The article said vanilla might mean too nice and Johnson started to use "a little profanity". I guess it bothers him. I think it means robotic (shows no personality or emotion). What do you guys think makes a driver vanilla and what one(s) if any are this way?

What I meant when I called him vanilla is that he has no personality. I like to see drivers with passion. Whether I agree with them or not. I don't care for Tony Stewart but he has a great personality. Same with Kyle Busch. Even Dale Jr. has a great personality. Johnson need to take the stick out of his butt and loosen up. He doesn't have to cuss, but speak his mind a little more.

  • Jimmie Johnson is definitely NOT too nice. He is a cheater, one of the worst cheaters in sports. He's worse than all Tour de France bikers combined!

Jimmie Johnson is not nice, not in the slightest. He is a bully. He is the kid that beats you up on recess to get your lunch money. Jimmie Johnson is a fraud. It is not his skill or passion that wins him championships. It's money. M-O-N-E-Y meaning My Own Nascar Eats Yours.

He is about as " vanilla" as they come! Doesn't help that he is Brian Frances little Golden boy pet project. JJ is like a little Nascar puppet whos strings are pulled by Nascar and his sponsors. He is a company man to a fault which makes him so boring it is not even funny.

That's what NASCAR wants in a driver who represents their sport.

Notice I said "their sport" and not "our sport"

How can anyone criticize jj when he wins? What keeps him so mellow is his workout schedule. He runs in marathons and triathlons. He just is low key.
