Is the mormon church bad for local economies everywhere except utah?
Since they require that their people send 10 percent of their money down to utah isn't that basically sucking money away from the locals? Buy local people!

Mormons are saying they know where their tithes go. LOL!! The LDS never tells them where the money goes. It has never once published an annual church business report--ever. Joseph Smith made that particular rule a long time ago. NO financial info for members. If you do it once, they will tear down this institution in fury.
Checks and balances? Never. Despite the Jews openly giving and taking tithes in the temples to show the people where their offerings went. Yet they claim to follow all the Temple laws of the OT. LOL!! Jesus never once did anything in secret. He did everything openly so God would be glorified.
Obviously the LDS doesn't care about glorifying God. (And no, Amm, the LDS does NOT "build" infrastructures. Where? Name one besides its own?) LOL!!!!!!

How would tithing benefit the people living in Utah more? Tithing in the church is sent to Salt Lake, BUT it then goes anywhere in the world, it is used to build new meetinghouses, temples, and humanitarian projects. It is used to help people in need, print Book of Mormons and Bible's that are given out to people. And also many other things that further the work of God.We believe that tithing is the Lord's money, we try not to waste it.

I think most of my tithing money stays right here. The rest goes to the church in Utah, but doesn't stay there. Our church is worldwide, and the money goes that way, too.

Toa had it right, it actually benefits the locals most. SLC doesn't need as many new Church buildings, Temples, and so forth. The Tithing money is collected there and is sent to other areas of the world benefitting them much more than SLC.
So please keep sending in your tithing donations so people in other parts of the world can benefit from new buildings and Temples :)

Oh no, you have to understand, that when the Mormon church builds $5 Billion (with a B) shopping malls in Salt Lake City, they are not using tithing funds. No, for those sorts of projects, the true church of Jesus uses funds from its commercial real estate business. You see, the true church of Jesus is one of the biggest holders of land in the United States. Because...that's what Jesus would want.

no, not at all. The church actually sends money back to all areas of the church. They also send money to charities and places that have been hit by disasters. They send millions around the world.

You assume that the 10% would be spent on locals. There multiple OTHER ways that same money could be spent.

Countries that have even a small percentage of Mormons
tend to do better than they did before Mormons became a part
of those countries.
Mormons build infrastructure.
In addition the United States does not typically attack countries that have
Latter Day Saint populations in them. Interesting but true fact that.

And yet, we do pretty well in areas that pay tithing faithfully, just as God promised. Hmmmm....
