Bearing in mind that the average IQ by definition in a population is always 100, I'd say the results really didn't turn up anything interesting other than the suggestion that Christians are not really any more intelligent or less intelligent than anybody else.

I'm a Christian and my IQ is around 135-145 depending on if I'm having a good/bad day...

I don't think IQ has anything to do with beliefs.

Some of the studies place it at around 95. Now those studies use IQ tests that are known for being culturally biased. Hispanics and Blacks tend to score poorly, while caucasians and asians tend to score well. A few studies were done using a test culturally biased toward blacks and found the exact opposite result, suggesting equality amongst races, and that it is actually the tests that are biased. Given the propensity for minorities like Hispanics and Blacks to be Christian, I would not hesistate to place the average for any large group at 100.

Overall, however, IQ is just one measure of intellect. There is no reason to believe someone with a higher IQ is better. There is especially no reason to believe that the IQ of someone makes their particular religious beliefs more or less true. I think that IQ is HIGHLY overrated and I have a professionally tested IQ of 165.

Since higher IQ people tend to see through religion, I will guess that drives down the theist average somewhat. The previous mention of 96 sounds pretty good.
