    the equation is gfx=0

if gx=6x then gx is 6x because 6x=6x, so g=6

you can sub in g to g(f(x))=0

you also know fx=x^2-5 so sub in x^2-5 as fx

    the equation would be 6(x^2-5)=0

distribute the 6 so it would be 6x^2-30=0

move the -30 over so its 6x^2=30

divide both sides by 6 so its x^2=5

square root both sides s x=2.236067978 or x=2.24

    6(x^2-5)

    6x^2-30

    Factor the your second question.

(X^2 + 8)(x^2 - 4) the first set of parenthesis results in imaginary answers but you can factor the second parenthesis because it is the difference of two squares.

    The real factors are: (x^2 + 8)(x+2)(x-2)
