Can I withdraw my plea deal?
I stupidly accepted a plea deal even though I am sure I would have been found innocent in trial. my attorney explained work release as "like community service" and that is one of the main reasons I accepted the plea. Now as I am going to work release I find out it is nothing like community service it is 8 hours a day! My defense attorney said she did not know how long a day was but "didn't think" it was 8. now I am finding out it is 8. Plus I cannot pick where to work like community service nor the hours when to work only the day.
so I think I should be able to retract my plea deal because, thanks to my attorney, I did not fully understand the terms of the contract that i signed.
What should I do?
If I cant withdraw my plea agreement what should I do? I cannot fulfill the terms, I do not have the time for work release.
the crime i did is not a crime at all only in this tyrannical land
so are you saying the northern citizens should not have helped the slaves because it was a crime? no do what YOU think is right not what the law says is right
all I did was possess concentrated marijuana
i think that because of juror nullification where if you do not agree with a law then they just find you not guilty. I could have brought it up and since i live in California i think most here would not agree that possession of concentrated marijuana should be a felony

I'd be grateful it wasn't jail. and what makes you think you'd have been acquitted?

My friend you better take time to do the time in community service. My son was offered 10 years probation and turned it down not because he was innocent but because they were taking his children away from him if he excepted the deal. He said no deal and when to trial. He got 50 years for the death of his wife in a domestic quarrel. I worked 5 1/2 years in the prison system and many inmates told me they should have taken the probation plea. They got a lot more time by thinking the jury would believe their side of the story.
