what rights do teenagers think they have, what do parents owe them?

I see all these posts about "It's MY life, no one should tell me what to do" in the teen sections. So what rights do teens believe they have, what do their parents 'owe' them

Teens essentially have no legal rights until they reach the age of majority. Everything they own isn't even technically theirs. It's the property of the parents. Parents are required by law to provide food, water, shelter, and adequate care for the child until they reach the age of majority. Parents can also make or "force" their kids to do things they may not want to (so long as it's not illegal), like clean their rooms, do the dishes, or go to church.

Basically, teenagers think that adults/ parents treat them lesser or like a kid. They espeically hate it when parents tell them whats best and/ or what they can or can't do. I hear my Mum say all the time "That's what I said to MY Mum at your age, when I got to my twenties, I realised how right they were" They should just be left to make mistakes and to learn from them.
