You have placed this question within the South Africa criterion. FYI, Africa is not a country, even though you'll often hear cynical South Africans saying things like "Africa, what a country". But that is merely facetious. Ignore it.
In fact, Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) lies 8000kms (eight THOUSAND kilometres) to the north-north-west, plumb in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean; closer to Timbuktu, Morocco, or even Maidstone and Middlesborough for that matter, than South Africa.
