University of Florida Business Economics?

How well regarded / ranked is UF's Economics program in the business department?

Would majoring in Economics there be a good idea? Is it reputable outside of Florida which would allow me to get jobs in other states with better metropolitan areas?

I am planning to major in Economics and minor in statistics.

Thanks.

I think it would be a very good idea. University of Florida is a well known school, and economics is a really good degree to have. Majoring in statistics is a great idea for a minor. I think it should go really well. I also have an economics degree. I found a job in government and eventually want to transfer to the government budget and finance department. You can maybe consider going down that route as an option when you are looking for employment. As a quick side note, it's a good idea before you start college to brush up on your study skills because good study skills will make college a lot easier. Just google things like note taking tips, study skills, how to write an essay, or test taking tips and that sort of thing and you should finish with a high gpa if you have good study skills.
