Did not receive "sterile solution" with Duramune Max 5?
After being told by our vet that it would be cheaper to self vaccinate our puppies, we headed to our local animal supply store. Here we picked up Duramune Max 5 and Duramune DvK. The DvK was already a ready to administer solution. The Max 5, however, looked to be a frozen solution yet it isn't... it's a solid block. After reading the instructions online from the Duramune website, it states that the vaccine needs to rehydrated with the "provided sterile solution". The vaccines did not come with the sterile solution that is mentioned. Do we need to talk to the supply store?

Didn't you receive a bottle with ANY liquid in it? You must have. You need to extract the liquid from that bottle, inject it into the bottle that you said looked to be frozen, shake that bottle up, and then extract that mixture back into the syringe. Making SURE that all the bubbles are out, lift the skin of the neck, insert the needle, pull back on the plunger slightly to make sure you have NOT hit a vein, and if you haven't, continue to inject the WHOLE vaccine.
With that said, if you didn't receive ANY bottle with liquid in it, then yes, you need to talk to the supply store.
Honestly, I can NOT believe that any Vet would tell you what they did. They want to make money, not direct you to how to DIY.
*I* know how to do it myself. Since you don't, just have a Vet do it, but not the one who told you to DIY. I don't believe that anyway.....sorry.
You don't have to read any instructions online. ALL vaccines come with instructions.
