What's wrong with Beliebers?

There isn't anything wrong with liking a certain artist. But there is a fine line between liking something and obsessing over it, which most Beliebers and 1Directioners have not come to understand considering most of their fan bases are prepubescent girls. Soon Justin and One Direction will be out of the picture anyways and they will move on to something new until eventually they grown out of that stage and move on, only to be replaced by a new generation of kids who like a new boy band. One thing we can say for certain 'Boy Bands' are indeed a cash cow so we won't see them stop any time soon.

I must agree, but there are some fans that aren't complete airheads like the ones you speak of. I don't understand them but then again I don't understand anyone who is that obsessed with an artist. With some of the obsessed fans I came across they are very peppy and if you dare to say something about the beloved Justin Bieber they freak out and say "You're jealous" or "You don't understand." I don't know what there is to understand about that but whatever, I don't understand why they think he's perfect. He is quite ugly too. I wouldn't touch that thing with a 50ft pole. I've heard many bad stories about how cocky and rude he is. At least with One Direction they don't seem like comes assholes.. Even though I despise them.

Edit: It's not just "teenyboopers" as another user has said. I've seen adults be obsessed with Bieber.

They are infected with "teenybopperitis". They just forgot to buy a bottle of Grow-Up from their local pharmacy. All it takes is 20 tablespoons and they will come to their senses.

Just kidding...

Teenyboppers around this age (8-15) tend to love face and voice. They love Bieber's image and singing, not the music composition itself. It is no different from hypnosis, it is a tired old trick used by the pop music industry. It works and sells well because teenyboppers don't know any better.

Hormonal and brain disorders. They're never curable most of the times. In some rare occasions or miracles, they do go back to their original state.

Oh, they have the virus called vagootittydae, the virus that produces the "teenyboppertitis".

What you have to remember is that it is impossible to actually live his music (you can 'like' it, but it's impossible to LOVE it. You're certainly not going to be shaking with euphoria after listening to him), so to make up for that, they form a cult following. The whole point of a cult is that once it has followers, it's like an avalanche.
