How reliable is a Honda CRV?

I am thinking of buying a second hand one and wondered how reliable they are.

They must be better than a Freelander.

Are the automatics reliable ?

Honda's are very reliable cars as a whole. The CRV is very well built and very well equipped on the top of the range models. The diesels give good milage and it looks miles better than a Freelander which is just a box on wheels. The automatics do not have any problems and we have had our CRV for a while now and not even a single lightbulb has gone yet.

As reliable as any second hand car is going to be. Impossible to say, it depends how well it's been driven and treated, two consecutive registration numbers and otherwise identical cars could be a world apart.

If it has FSH it should be very reliable. A long road test is always essential too.
