What is correct to say in Dutch?

I want to say the phrase "Dutch speakers" (people who speak Dutch). What is correct:

Nederlands sprekers,

or

Nederlandse sprekers?

(and why?)

nice question. Neither is really good.

Nederlands would be the object of sprekers, but the word order will never be used like that in Dutch. Nederlandse would be an adjective (comparable to American speakers, which just does not cover the fact the "speakers" speak Dutch as a native language: they could be speakers from Holland at a conference, speaking Swahili. :)

If you want to say people who speak Dutch, it would be mensen die Nederlands spreken, or mensen met Nederlands als moedertaal. Yes, our language is a bit hard...

And yes, Erik is right, Nederlandstaligen would be correct too. I wonder why he so often beats me in answering a question at odd hours, lol

    "Nederlandstaligen" or "Nederlands sprekenden"

(Why do most questions about Dutch appear when it's after midnight here?)
