How do local churches make money?
My uncle is a pastor. He is VERY well off and has a substantial income. What I want to know is how does his local church make money in order to pay him and send people on mission trips, etc. I understand donations, but if someone could please go into detail on what percentage of a church's profits come from what areas, other means of raising money, etc.

Churches don't make money, and preachers quite often don't get a salary. God has no trouble sending money to good boys through ordinary business transactions.

The church, like a government, has no money in and of itself. It is supported by donations. Many "peddle" religion and milk members of much needed money, promising them their donation is a "seed" and God will prosper them. Jesus taught that the 'word' is the seed. There is a difference, though, between 'donations' and taxing. In church, you give what you 'want' to give (unless coaxed by greedy pastors to give more than you can afford). Giving is not always confined to the collection plate. We should give to the poor, etc. The collection plate if for the support of the organization to pay it's bills. That doesn't mean the preacher needs a jet. The preacher can buy his own transportation and provide for himself from his own pay. If others want to donate to him, they can, but it doesn't have to be through the collection plate. We are supposed to divide God's word rightly and donate accordingly.

Those of The True Church support the ministry and the worldly obligations, of The Church, by donating time and money... each congregation of The True Church should be managing the resources of the congregation accourding to The word and Will of God

My pastor is a software developer.
Considering we have a congregation of less than 70 people, I'm better sure the collections are barely enough to pay the church bills.

My church is very small. My Pastor has chicken houses that are paid for, so he's taking care of himself.
When we go on missions, we pay out-of-pocket.
