Is there a substitute for this ingredient in a recipe?

In a recipe it says add a few drops of Almond Extract. I don't have almond extract and it seems too expensive at the store for something I won't use that much. Is there a substitute for almond extract or would it be fine to just leave it out of the recipe since it only said add a few drops.

Thanks!

Update:

I am planning on making Rosemary-Kissed Orange Thumbprint Cookies Tuscano.

It calls for flour, cornstarch, fresh rosemary, salt, butter, powdered sugar, orange marmalade, and almond extract.

Buchu, I wouldn't have a clue, buch brandy will have to be okay but let the alcohol evaporate. As for witblitz, good, distill some schnapps and it might work. Don't you get mampoer in Duitsland?
