I'm not sure. How evil is this God that my mental illness caused me to believe in?

I don't know, it depends on what kind of life I led in general. I try to be a good person but sometimes I'm not as good as I should be.

I am depressed and suicidal, but I've been that way for at least 50 years so I doubt very much if I'll ever kill myself. I had a few relatives who did and I saw the effect it had on their families; I don't think I could do that to someone else.

My religion, Baha'i, doesn't have any prohibition against suicide that I know of.

My wife is Hindu, and she believes suicide is a worse sin than murder.

I am living with the torment of mental illness. And for those of us who are so bad off that we are suicidal, NO, we don't care whether we are "damned" or not. Once things get that bad, that sort of thing doesn't matter.

There is not any just right study proof of a correlation between bipolar disease and "getting faith" in the center years. A bipolar ailment is an affective disorder (e.G., tremendous temper swings) and isn't normally associated with a thought sickness or delusions until one occurs to be experiencing a manic state or severe despair (even then now not necessarily). Humans with schizophrenia, schizo-affective ailment, and some of you extra severe personality disorders (e.G., schizoid, borderline, schizotypal) will have a thought disease, delusions, and auditory hallucinations. Routinely (but now not at all times), their idiosyncratic beliefs have strong religious associations. The first "psychotic smash" ordinarily happens within the late teens to early twenties. Interestingly, there's a body of study which implies a strong association between intellectual well being and a sense of spirituality or religion. The actual DSM IV "acid-scan" is in regards to the penalties. Does it inhibit or compromise social/vocational/interpersonal functioning in some significant manner? If now not, it would not be viewed pathological. In other words, there's nothing inherently pathological in regards to the amazing belief that you simply met an angel. The controversy as as to whether you and millions of theistic "others" are deluding yourselves or now not, will generally not ever be entirely settled. It will be significantly better to focal point for your degree of functioning and now not be too caught up in labels like "bipolar" which is as a rule over identified and lets no longer go overboard with the concept of "magical considering". A belief in a vist from an angel is not enough to qualify. (that is comming from an atheistic-leaning agnostic). Plus, we all have some measure of magical thinking. Just right good fortune!

I would seek the healing and help of the Lord, maybe you'll be healed, maybe your calling is to help others in your situation. Don't pull the closing curtains on life, God hasn't even started the show! Your precious and loved to do that. Find peace in prayer and in your relationship in Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. The love of the Lord is greater than any pain we will ever endure.

Strict religion actually defines mental illness as a demonic influence. so from a really strict religious opinion, suicide is considered an unforgivable sin.
