Why was my question deleted?
I asked a question about Yahoo settings, and my question was deleted. It's difficult to find Yahoo how-to information, so I thought that Yahoo Answers might be a good place. It was a straight-forward question about changing settings to Celsius, but it was deleted for "violating community guidelines". Does anyone know where to find information on Yahoo settings? Or why a question on weather settings "violate community guidelines"?

We'd need a lot more information on *precisely* what you put in the post to say why it was deleted.
A question about changing Yahoo! settings to Celsius would not be deleted on the basis of topic.
Firstly, did you definitely get a violation notice? If not, there are a number of no-blame reasons for deletion: no answer after four days; "No Best Answer" chosen at voting; or the Best Answer being a violation, and deleted.
However, there are various less obvious reasons a question might be deleted: for instance, the format being "chat" in some way (including using Additional Details to chat/argue with answerers); or if you requested users to contact you directly (a solicitation violation); or if the question contained an extended moan about some grievance (a rant violation).
It's all in the detail, and the detail almost always explains apparently arbitrary deletions.

I've just opened an account on here to ask why news videos won't play on my computer, now i'm having a look around . . . is this right, you have violated community guidelines by asking to change from farenhiet to celsius ? . ..my god, what kind of community is this, if you get deleted for that enquiry then Hitler and the Nazi party look like good company for a fun day out . . . i can only assume there is not a human checking these questions and the machines have taken over . . good luck .:)
