Yes, Microsoft is looking to make the new Xbox One more of an entertainment system .. and the PS4 is focused more on gaming and has better hardware (barely).

But did you people actually see the Xbox One reveal? I thought it looked pretty cool. You can multitask no matter what game or movie you are playing instantly, including skype, by using the swipe techniques or talking through Kinect. They also introduced the new matchmaking system hat includes over 500,000 new servers. A new friends system and feed to show in depth achievements, stats, and updates of what you're friends are doing. Plus there are a few more little things.

So what was so special about the PS4? The graphics are absolutely stunning, the controller has a touchpad and a share button. Besides this, what is there? It seems to me that Sony added these features and updated the PS4 to have better hardware specs, and this is all. I really don't see any innovation like the Xbox One is showing.

The PS4 will probably be better for you if you use your console strictly for gaming. But I really believe the Xbox One has more possibilities and shows more innovation, that is just my opinion at least.

ALSO, I would like to clear up some false answers. The Xbox One does NOT have to be connected to the internet once every 24 hours, but according to Microsoft it will greatly enhance your gaming experience. Also, the Xbox One can connect to the internet without you turning it on/logging in, so unless your internet goes down, you are fine. Stop making rumors about this!!!

Next, NEITHER CONSOLES HAVE BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY. Yes, that is right. However, Sony has said that it is something they are looking into. SO possibly, they could come out with something that enables you to play PS3 games, but likely not until late 2014.

Lastly, Bob that is not true. Both consoles have been officially revealed. The PS4 was February 20th, the Xbox One was May 21st. Both will be shown at the E3 though, that is correct.

Neither, build your own computer. That's what i am gonna do. Consoles like Xbox and PS4 are just low-grade computers in "fancy" little containers. The obstacle is that if you wish to improve your snap shots card, RAM, tough drive, and many others., -- you can't with a console. With a laptop computer, nonetheless, you are able to do ALL of that AND actually get work carried out with it. Some thing you need to do on a console will also be achieved on a laptop after which some. When you do not wanna although, take if from a Xbox360 proprietor, get the PS4. Higher price, photos, process. Sure there isn't a "Halo" but whatev's. Additionally, you will not get a developed in Kinect you don't want.

I'm casting my vote with PS4. I was really looking forward to the new Xbox. But after seeing it. I'm going to have to pass. I feel like they turned xbox into a cable box. So now you are going to have to deal with ads. But if you like the whole, "Entertainment" thing then fine. But the PS4 seems like a step ahead for the gamers. But that is just my opinion.

Neither, this next generation of consoles isn't gonna be a huge leap in graphics, just texture improvements. Ever see the gameplay video of watch dogs on PS4? Yeah well, the people seeing this footage, were disappointed and this is a game that's gonna have really good graphics......well on a gaming PC. Sony and Microsoft are going cheap this gen so if I were you, don't expect amazing graphics with these two consoles.

of course its PS4 . Cause , the xbox one will not give you certain features . And you will be paying a fortune to play a game . And even not sure the gamepad has any display on it too . And if wana use your hard earned game on a secend console , it will cost money . And you will have to sync your console every 24 hour in internet to keep in touch with microsoft and keep your console on . Man , go for you ps4 . Save money

Well my main concern was the Xbox being able to play 360 games on it and yes... 2nd hand games is high on my list as thats all i purchase.

Like the idea of an all round media centre gaming hub but from what i saw about the 'One' it was all USA based. How will the tv part of it work here in the UK? Thats a major concern for me.

Has for backwards compatabilitie... when i fisrt purchased a 360 i hardly if ever played anymore of my original xbox games even though i still had the original console so i dont think it will bother me to much no ive thought of it.

I will def wait for more info on both systems before i eve think of purchasing one. As much as i like the Xbox im fed up of having to pay a monthly/yearly fee for it. The whole console as probably cost me nearly £800

There will probably be a large number of Playstation 4 AND Xbox One fans in the beginning, just like there was and is for the Playstation 3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Elite. Some people are more interested in the new technology that comes out while others are interested in previous gen consoles. There are some that have a duel interest with both new and previous consoles. I personally always enjoyed the older systems more, because I just felt like they were more simplistic and less complicated. Also, older generation consoles seem like they have better games in my opinion. I think Playstation 3 is ok and is better than Playstation 2 in a lot of ways, but in my opinion, the Playstation 2 will always be superior as far as gameplay goes. New consoles just emphasize more advanced graphics, CPU's, and features.

I think Xbox One looks interesting and really good, but of course I am aware of how Microsoft wants to give it all of the best and newest features. That's generally where I lose interest, because I think we are getting to a point where we may one day have every "new feature" available and there will be little evidence left to convince us that buying a new console is really that much of an upgrade from the previous gen console. It used to be that video game consoles were meant for playing video games, now it's all about Skype, Facebook, Hulu, Netflix, Playstation Network, Xbox Live, Music, Videos, Internet, Youtube, ect. It could (and probably will) go on forever! Xbox 360 is great, but I've had the red ring of death a number of times (I even did research to find an Xbox 360 that wouldn't do that, and even after I picked one that supposedly wouldn't do it, it happened anyway). I used to own a Playstation 3, but it kept breaking and I kept sending it in for repairs. Eventually, I got tired of this pattern (which lasted months by the way), and just sold it at a local game store in the mall for a measly $80.00. These machines are built to over perform, but something tells me they aren't as big and bad as they were made to be. They just don't last like they used to, which is why I no longer play video games.

I think all of this hype about the new consoles really only appeals to a younger generation of gaming, the majority of which, haven't played a decent game from the early 2000's. But that's just my opinion. Since I've experienced some unacceptable flaws in the latest Microsoft and Playstation consoles, my general opinion of these gaming consoles isn't very positive at all. It's amazing to me how so much technology can go into these "gaming monsters", yet they seem to fail the test of time. In both cases, both systems did not last and ultimately made me feel cheated. I don't care about all of these fancy features (except the ability to listen to your own music while playing a game). I'm not satisfied with today's games. They seem to be SOOOOO short and easy to beat. I remember when games were long and hard, but they were fun. I'd like to see some more of those return to the gaming market, as unlikely as it is.

I'm thinking xbox even though I'm a sony consumer. Unless ps4 will have improved security (I haven't read up on it) then xbox will have that above them. The network is free on ps3 and all but they had problems here and there.

I always play Xbox, but now I think the ps4 will be better because of the backwards compatibility. If you want to play a used 360 game on it, you will have to pay a fee
