Im joining the USMC Infantry in 2014?
I graduate high school in 2014 and am going to try to get a summer ship out date to boot camp. I have two questions...
1. After the Corps, how hard/easy is it to get a job in law enforcement or a job in the federal government? Such as police officer, or something. I have 3.5 gpa in all honors classes so im a pretty smart kid. Will i need to do college after the Corps in order to get a job? 2 or 4 years?
2. Assuming nothing happens in regard to Syria and Iran, how likley is it that i get deployed to Afghanistan since we are pulling out in 2014? Will my batallion still go as security? Do troops still regularly deploy after 2014 ends? If not, can you volunteer? And how likley is it that ground troops end up in syria or iran? Thanks in advance. I know theres no way to be sure but thanks for your help.

Almost all law civilian enforcement agencies require a college degree. All Federal Agencies require one. We can't answer as to how easy it will be as none of us know what the hiring policies will be in 2018 or 2019.
You will not go to Afghanistan. While there will likely be Soldiers on the ground after 2014, the Marines have no plans on staying, and just as in Iraq, they will be the first to leave.
The current Administration - and I am betting the next one - has no intention of putting ground forces in to Syria or Iran at this point.
You need to face the cold, honest truth - you have missed the wars, young Hero.

No, their will nevertheless be patrols each and every of the time for the subsequent decade over there, and then each generally on there will be insurgents who're stupid and connect the Marines. And being a Marine, you have a greater efficient threat of having deployed, becasue their is approximately a hundred ninety,000 enlisted Marines while in comparison with a sprint over six hundred,000 enlisted in the army, so which you get carry of greater efficient opportunities.
