94 ranger shifting issues?
just finished rebuilding it the second time. yeay it works. when the wheels are off the ground. in all gears even overdrive. but when it is on the ground moving the truck it won't shift automatically in overdrive it slips bad in second and 3rd. its doing the same thing as it was before the rebuild. but when you shift manually it shifts fine. what will cause it to not shift automatically in drive but shifts fine manually.
not the torque converter i replaced it. it does the same with the new one too

last year of the A4LD hows the vacuum should be 16-18 at the modulator. the drums if they were re-installed looking like they were glazed then the bands can't grab the drum they need to be sanded we do an 80 grit then soften it with a light paper like a 220 grit works fine and gives a good shift. also band adjustment back off the 3/4 nut run adjustment rod to 18 ft pounds then back of two turns then tighten nut for both bands. how's the valve body everything free all valves working and so forth. if doing the exact same thing then its back inside the unit since its all hydraulic. the servo pistons need to be replaced also was that done
