I'm not sure what you mean by 'really useful sites'. There's tons of sites that have information that can be found on a Google search.

The sites you are talking about are 'blocked' because the college doesn't want people in the computer lab or computer room surfing the net for music, movies, ****, or whatever else. You have to follow the rules. College is for learning, not surfing the internet. They 'block' sites to also prevent viruses or malware being downloaded into the school's computer server.

Way to overcome this problem?

In your free time, spend about 20 years to learn how to hack into a computer server. The codes change all the time, so it is not a static process to become a hacker.

Look, at least get your basic facts right. All minority groups have representatives that check the media for racist articles/remarks/interviews. And as a leading politician has just noted this week that violent, racist attacks against Jewish people in Britain have increased alarmingly, you can hardly blame Jews for being uneasy and for being vilgilant! Of course, perhaps you would prefer that the Jews followed the example of their Muslim cousins, and began burning the British flag and calling for suicide bombers....?
