In what order did Haydn write the Paris symphonies?
And in what order should we hear them?

The published numbering of Haydn's symphonies can be misleading as to the time of their composition - sometimes drastically so (No 72 is a very early work, for example). However, the discrepancies with many of his later symphonies usually only concerns the order in which they were written. In the case of the six Paris symphonies, the order of composition was thus:
No.87 in A
No.85 in B-flat (La Reine)
No.83 in G minor (Hen)
No.84 in E-flat
No.86 in D
No.82 in C (Bear)
It's rather up to you what order in which you want to listen to them.
