What position should a short guy play in football?
I know this has probably been asked a lot but whatever. I'm gonna try out for my high school team next year and go to conditioning over the summer. Anyways I'm 5'5 and about 155 lbs. not at just pretty muscular and people have told me I am pretty fast. I was thinking Running Back or Wide Reciever. What do you guys think?

As long as a player has the talent and skills for a position he can overcome the size factor... I would talk to the coach to see what options you'll have this season.. It really depends on the talent available and what needs the team has what position you'll play.... Good luck.......

I highly encourage you to play for your high school football team this upcoming season. Based on your height and weight, as well as your speed, I believe that the best fit for you is at running back. You have the ideal size for a high school running back.
My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this (and every) summer is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch running back in high school football, who could go on to play college football in the future.

if your fast RB would be best, 5'5 for a HS freshman is not really that short, and your probably not done growing, WR if your smaller then the other guys can be a double edged sword cause you can probably out run most bigger guys but you can also get hurt really bad if your hit hard enough by somebody who's got 50-80lbs on you when your both running full speed.

well it sounds like u could be a fullback if u could block and if ur team use an i formation or wishbone. if not the speed is ok but put on some weight and try dt. for either of these positions work on quickness more than speed. because in these positions u only have to be fast for about 10-15 yards. then hit the weights like its nobodies business and make ur toughness and brute strength do the talking for ur speed
