If the sun got bigger. Would life start on other planets?

Just a thought since Earth is bound to become lifeless someday because of the suns soon to be overwhelming size.

It's possible that one of the other planets or moons in our solar system can fall into the new habitable zone of our Sun when it becomes a red giant, though the amount of time it will be there will be relatively short (on a cosmic time scale, that is).

For about 500 million years Mars could be that planet, while Earth will take on more of the Venus role if it survives. Eventually Mars will also become too hot as the Sun continues to expand, at which point one of Jupiter's moons, such as Europa, could become the next body to become temperate enough for liquid water to exist. Saturn's Titan is the next possibility, and so on. However, each of these planets/moons will only enjoy the benefit for a short time compared to Earth because the red giant phase is much shorter than the main sequence phase.

IF microbial life already exists in these places, then sure, it's possible life can suddenly begin to flourish (over the course of millions of years that is). But in all likeliness, life from Earth would have to be transported and eventually will have to adapt to the new conditions in each of these places (with the assistance of technology, of course).

once the sun starts using what little hydrogen it has left - in billions of years, it becomes a red giant. engulfing almost all planets. then it will shrink and turn into a white dwarf or explode becoming a black hole. Either way life can't be sustained. The speed at which this occurs also means that it wouldn't give life a chance to happen on other planets. This is only in our solar system remember. And the moon Europa (6th moon of Jupiter) supposedly has life on it under it's surface.

  • "Soon to be overwhelming size" means it will get bigger in 4-5 thousand million years!

Warming Mars a few degrees might help there (say 40 degrees warmer) but we'd still have the problem of little water, very little oxygen. and low atmospheric pressure.

you're variety of in each single place in this one. Evolution would not have something to declare regarding the formation of the planets, and their satellites, or stars...that's cosmology and astronomy. provided that it occurred, the prospect is one hundred%. Rainbows are the consequence of white easy seperating in moisture droplets (solved that secret for ya). end result and vegetables, as properly as our potential to consume them, are the made from evolution. many times speaking, the element of the fruit and vegetable that we consume is the seed, or seed pod, of the plant...the reproductive element, so which you will possibly communicate. people, being omniverous, progressed the potential to consume and digest those issues. it relatively is a symbiotic courting. remember that not all flowers are fit to be eaten (or helpful). some have progressed protection mechanisms (which includes poison ivy and oak). for each physique which may well be of use to the human physique, there is yet another that could kill it. "an understanding of our own existance, our strategies, infants made of their mothers womb each minute...thoughts, legs, eyes,..." All evolutionary features. "How lots time could it take for a dinosaur (fixed that for ya) to evolve with all of those issues in place..." Archeology and organic background exhibits us that it took tens of millions of years. "what are the probabilities that each little thing formed and not using a plan and no person to constuct this fact of each little thing." lower back, provided that it occurred, the probability is one hundred% "existence is many in the international yet 0 everywhere else." Fossilized micro organism has been got here upon on Mars...that shows existence someplace else.

No, the sun is only a fraction of the equation for life. No life would spring up on our system if the sun were to get bigger.

When the sun becomes bigger it's because it is coming to its end. So even if there were other no gaseous bodies ready to welcome life in our solar system, like a few moons of Jupiter or Saturn, there wouldn't be enough time to develop such life as we know it.

sure kepler 22b has oxygen and many other planets may have oxygen

so before sun become a red giant we can go to other habitable planets

    these links would help you

"Soon"won't happen for billions of years. By then there either won't be a human race anymore, or we will have spread out to nearby systems.
