Microsoft word 2013, spell check wont underline misspelled words?

please help me, I'm about to throw this laptop out the window

    • Proofing

    • When Correcting Spelling and Grammar in Word

    • Check box next to "Check Spelling as you type"

    • Below make sure the boxes are unchecked next to "Hide spelling errors in this document"

    Already verified those options. Even words we know are not spelled correctly, don t get underlined or marked. Checked the custom dictionaries, empty. Is this a bug?
