Panic attacks and numbness?

Can panic attacks cause your left arm to get really weak and your jaw to hurt before it happens? I've been to the hospital a lot and had blood work and ekgs done so I don't think its a heart attack... they said it is panic attacks... but they hurt... and I have all the same symptoms of a heart attack...

Yes panic attacks can give you alot of symptoms. Mine use to mimic a heart attack. After all the tests came back normal they said it was panic attacks. Just remember panic attacks won't kill you even though it can feel as if you are going to die.

My physiology is a bit rusty, but I think this is how it works. Some people breathe very rapidly - hyperventilate - with a panic attack. With this you blow off some of your carbon dioxide resulting in a decrease in serum ionized calcium. This causes the sensation of numbness in face and fingers.

Yes, they can. For me, my fingers would get numb and my chest felt really heavy and my jaw felt tight. The important thing to remember is that the feeling will pass.

It sounds like a stroke. It sounds like you have a clot or aneurysm. You need to make it back to the doctor.
