Is this a good processor?

Is this a good processor for the price? AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX

Also could I go to say bestbuy to have them install it? If so how much would they charge?

Update:

I'd love to have a top of the line i7 but that's a bit more expensive than $180

Yes, that is a good CPU, on AMD's side, the fx8350 is currently the best CPU for gaming, although it falls a bit short with the 3570K's gaming performance, it is pretty decent for its price.

As for your other question, I guess it would be better if you call bestbuy's customer service and ask them about this matter.

I have this CPU and it works great for gaming and multitasking. I can have several programs runnin in the background while playing modern games and get great performance on the highest graphics. The only thing I have read that people have complained about is its power consumption so make sure you have a decent Power Supply. Maybe 500-600 watts. Also you could ask the geek squad to install it. Not sure if they will charge you though. I would just do it yourself. It's not that hard.

it's very good but if you want to game i'd go for an Intel i7 top of the line quad core since games will only use four of the eight cores. However if your just web browsing/streaming go with the AMD since these task will support all the eight cores.

For gaming no look at an i5
