The funniest is when they say: "Please be completely honest! No mean comments or I will report you."

What if the honest answer is a mean answer?

Not necessarily, but I do tend to me more brutal with my honesty when it comes to things like that. I critique stories and typically when someone says "no mean comments" what they really mean is "comments that agree with me or tell me how wonderful I am only".

i had won girl that serisly rote a story like this and says no mean comments plz. I naturally gave her a very poor review and her reply was, "Yeah plp who said my story was bad r all just jealous." Sure. Jealous I don't write that terrible.

But in all seriousness, there's a way to give tactful criticism and advise. Dear Abby mastered this.

No, I will give anyone respect anyone that asks for it. It's really low to attack someone that's so vulnerable.

Someone asks for no mean comments, they mean comments like "I've never seen a more idiotic question that this" or "Judging from your question, you must be about 12 years old".

These people say they're being honest, but you read their answers and they're just crude and spiteful attacks. Mean is synonymous with spite, hate, hostility... But not dishonesty.

Mean comments are like you are dumb or stupid.

Mean comments aren't like you did the wrong thing.

You can correct without getting personal.

I ignore it and say what I want to say anyway.

It just means "tell me what I want to hear" rather than an honest opinion.

Sometimes you have to accept the truth.
