Can I improve sound which is low on some channels by adding external speakers?

like CBS sound

    Yes. You will need an amplifier as well. If you want a relatively inexpensive one piece solution, consider a soundbar.

    to get more sound you need more amplification. adding speakers without amplification will just share the power you have now, not make it louder.
