microsoft word -- custom dictionary?

been writing a few chemistry reports and i have had to add a few new words to its dictionary. I have done this via the " add to dictionary " on the drop down box during an edit.

Along the way i have added a mis spelt word and it no longer highlights it for me .

My question.

Is there a way to remove words from the dictionary after they have been added.??

It would help to know what version of Word you are using.

The custom dictionary is in a file named custom.dic. If you go to File, Options, Proofing, Custom dictionaries in a recent version of Word, you will be able to edit it. It is a txt file with only one entry per line. You can alphabetize it as you would any other document. This may make it easier for you to edit it.
