Is hostility to other nations just a part of being patriotic?

I wonder what everyone thinks of this, whether you're British (WOO!), American, Australian, Canadian, French, whateva. If you're patriotic, does it mean you're hostile to other countries? Can you be really patriotic without being hostile to other nations?

Many thanks!

you can be patriotic without being hostile to an entire nation but just to those people within the nation who are hostile toward you or who have attacked your country. Not the entire population of the other nation. That's a generalization.

not necessarily hostile to other countries but i myself find it easier to pick holes in other countries than i do England possibly because im born and bred British but i think it also has something to do with tthe countries history such as i am patriotic because of how valiantly the British people fought in ww1 and 2 but i also pick holes in france for doing so poorly in both world wars although i am not hostile i think it is just a form of banter on a world scale
