Could you give me a reality check, please?

It doesn't matter which type of reality check you think I might need. I'm pretty sure most of them apply to me. Except for the one about not sleeping around with strange men on the street who offer you bags of cocaine in exchange. I'm pretty okay on that one so far, although actually, you can throw in that reality check too for good measure because it might not be too long before it, too, is relevant to me.

Thank you! :]

BQ: When was the last time in your life when you were in serious need for a good sit-down lecture-like reality check?

If your inner conscious/voice guy is telling you that someone is not going to be as good of a friend as you might want them to be, listen to it.

Here's the context in which I recently have had to learn this lesson. He's a charismatic guy. He's funny. He's incredibly smart and creative. He sounds like he could be such a great person, right? Except that he's not sensitive to anyone's feelings but his own. I thought that was something I could deal with, and I thought that, with enough patience from me, we could be good friends. We have been pretty good friends this past semester, but I've felt myself doubting how much I could really trust him, and this doubt always existed in the back of my mind. I mean, I never knew how much he really cared about me. Not that he doesn't care about me at all, but he doesn't care about me enough to talk through any arguments we get into. He just wants to avoid the conversation altogether and resume normality a few days later. So after tolerating this relationship all semester, all the while thinking that we can be good friends and I can be patient enough, and he's not a bad person (which he isn't, I don't believe he is this way intentionally), I reached my breaking point and I know that my inner conscious friend was seeing all the right things and I'm totally aware that I was shoving them to the back of my mind.

So I guess my reality check is this: if you ever find yourself in this situation, where you think "This relationship can work! It can! I'll make it! I'll force it!", don't do it. It won't work. The reality check is that people will only change if they want to, themselves, and/or are open to the idea of growing as a person, and in the meanwhile, you have to do what's good and healthy for you and not invest yourself too much in that relationship.

    I hope you're well, Kelly :)

All i visit declare is i in my opinion do no longer boo for the drivers i do in contrast to...besides the undeniable fact that this is different human beings's precise to realize this. do exactly no longer throw something at my driver whilst he wins. I recommend, like each and all of the drivers say...as long as they're booing a minimum of they're paying interest to us. Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon have consistently reported that as quickly as they are no longer getting anymore cheers or boos they understand they have lost the pastime of the NASCAR followers and that possibly they could desire to think of roughly retiring. (of course no longer in those authentic words, yet on the brink of that result.) think of related to the driving force that have been given the loudest boos till now he replaced into killed, this is precise Dale Earnhardt. AND, who's merchandise nevertheless sells extra advantageous than countless the precise drivers in Cup racing as we communicate....throughout lower back, Dale Earnhardt. He replaced into the main hated driver on the music....yet he replaced into consistently and could consistently be the main respected driver in NASCAR. So, the boos don't be concerned me...heck each so often this is the only way i understand who's been anounced for the period of driver intros. If i'm busy or speaking to a pal, loud boos permit me understand that this is the two Tony or Jeff. and of course loud cheers permit me understand that Jr.'s come out on the degree.

I don't really qualify to give you one. Haha. I'm 21, and never had a real job (Well, I edit manuscripts, so that counts, right? Right?).
