Is a masters degree worth it?

So I just graduated Community College this week with an A.S. in General studies. I'm getting ready to transfer to finish my bachelors in computer information systems. But I'm also thinking about either a masters or a second bachelors. Would it be worth it to get that much education? I've heard of people hiding their education on their resume to get better job prospects, will it really affect my chances of getting a job?

It is. Master's degree holders are typically paid higher and can aim at higher job positions.

If you're worried about job outlook, you're in the right field.

Computer Information Systems is Business mixed in with Programming (Computer Science). You should have no problems finding a job with banks or many other companies managing databases. You could even go straight into other programming jobs.

There are many doors open to you. A Masters degree would help you earn more money in the long run, but you should have no problem whatsoever earning enough for a living wage and finding a job with that major.

Usually the higher tuebdegree, the more the $$$ and the better chance of getting hired. Think about it: u have a masters in comp info systems.... Which u know really well... And the other person has a BA in the sake field... They'll wanna hire you cuz u have more knowledge and unlike a BA which is just ur major and also common core classes, etc.... A masters is only a degree in that specific field. So u get much better knowledge of it.

Besides, almost everywhere now they require a masters.

In something like CIS is will fast track you into management and eventually you will make more money.

My son in law has his masters in computer science and with a couple strategic job changes in the last 2 years, he has doubled his salary.

I would estimate that over 80% of those who get a masters do better than they would with just a bachelors.

My daughter is getting her PhD in civil engineering in a year and employers are asking her to name her price. She will start the bidding for her services at $100K a year.

For many undergraduates in their final year at university, the spectre of graduation is looming ever closer on the horizon. Some will relish the prospect of hitting the job market, armed with a fully furnished CV and a wealth of experience at their fingertips
