West coast need more speed in the centre?
But where do they get it, granted we got wellingham out but we need something else, Gaff gets tagged out, Shuey is one paced, Embers is too old, Kerr is much the same.
What can they do to fix it, we know the firepower there is in the forward line. We know the backline is generally solid. But where can we get some extra leg speed in the middle.

Maybe, but they need more commitment. It's almost the same squad as they had last year when we were hearing all year how all they needed was an end to the injuries. Well they've got all those injured players back - Embley, LeCras, Kerr, Shuey, Gaff ... baah don't make me go and dig out one of Cheese's questions :-) ...
They were feeble tonight and for mine it looked like a lack of effort.
If it is indeed old age, maybe some of those players Cheese was waiting for last year just weren't worth the wait and they should go back to the youngsters who played in their place last year.

Too old, too slow, no confidence, No plan B, No Finals this year
alright I've been thinking all year, its ok we'll improve, its just rust but i think its evident now the problems lay much deeper then that and it starts with A very below par midfield. Aside from Kerr who is coming on 30 we don't have that A grader that's needed. in 2011 we had a fairly soft draw and took teams by surprise, 2012 the belief and confidence was there it was obvious we weren't quite there but we thought the midfield would improve. 2013 has come along and aside from Masto none of the younger mids have really taken that next step we really needed them to take. the main problems I think are
1. lack of class, size and speed in the middle
2. MC and Woosh continue to instist with old veterens that have clearly past it. i mean how A.Selwood is getting a game over Wilson who has been consistantly killing it at WAFL level i have no clue.
3. the veterans who had a bit of second wind the last two years have dropped off considerably and the younger players are to scared to get their hands dirty.
what I would likle to see?
well looking at our draw and recent performances i really can't see us making the finals, every team with finals aspirations this year have hammered us even at our own home ground and then we just end up beating up on GWS, Melbourne, Bulldogs etc...
1. lets start swinging the axe, and getting games into Kids A.Selwood and Embley are depth players only, too slow and disposal is shocking, Give Wilson a go.
2. drop some of the players who seem to be coasting along, it not acceptable and the team needs to know that, looking at Mark LeCras direction here mostly.
3. A change up of some sort, our players have no versatility, its time to start experimenting with a few new things because the current game plan just dosent work any more. What if we tried using Darlings burst speed and strength in the guts at times when we are struggling?
4. maybe a new coach? most tend to part ways before 10 years or so and i feel the past of some players is maybe effecting Woosha's judgement when it comes to select best 22.
5. We need to be more aggressive during Free Agency and and Trade time this year for an A class big bodied midfielder and also some speed, its a shame that so many talented WA youngsters ended up at the expansion clubs.

The Eagles appear not to be as much 'Hungry' as they were back in 2011 and 2012. Certainly the clubs been lacking commitment no doubt. I just think Worsfold should make a fair few changes with the players around the field.
Maybe replace Mark Hutchings with Patrick McGinnty? or slot Mark Nicoski in as the Sub, throw Embers on the field, and take out Hutchings? Or maybe, slot Ashton Hams into the Forward line, and give Lecca a run in the Midfield? Or perhaps, give Brad Dick a run? His certainly been in good shape.
Just a fair few Options i could maybe see working.

Lack of commitment just like the blokes on the TV said the midfielders aren't running up and down the field like they were last year. This results in them getting no goals from there midfielders all the best teams have midfielders that contribute both on the score board and down back tonight the majority of them did neither with the acception of Scotty Selwood of cause who was brilliant.
They left our defence vulnerable and our forwards didn't have a hope because bombing it long on Jack Darlings head is just going to give Rance and Chaplin a chance to spoil. They gave the tigers outside midfielders too much ball, for the last three quarters and weren't accountable for Deledio Grigg and Houli running of the wings and half back. They are prolific users of the footy and capitalised to our unaccountability.
