They had observation balloons going back to the Revolutionary war. If they were launched from a barge during the Civil War, then yes they had carriers!

You are obviously "Dumber Than A Box Of Rocks"...

Really should find someone to teach you how to really use a Computer...

Type in the Search Bloc: Dates of US Civil War...

Then Type in: Date of First Aircraft Carrier being Built...

Really hope you can figure it out from there ???

    No, aircraft weren't invented yet.

However, back in the days of the Italian Renaissance Leonardo de Vinci drew drawings of some aircraft, of sorts.

It wouldn't be till 1906 that the first known airplane ( "aeroplane" as the Wright brothers called it) was invented ( or at least patented.)

Kind of, yes. As long as you're willing to be loose on the definition of aircraft (although I guess they count as "Lighter-than-Air aircraft") and "carrier".

But there were barges that deployed balloons.

I examine the solutions of all the others that responded, and together as I agree that all and sundry warfare in mans background has not been tied to grease i visit assert that considering WWI oil has been the identifying ingredient. not basically that yet i could state that if issues proceed at present day expenditures, oil could be the hot reason of wars, rather to being basically the ingredient that determines the winner of such wars. of course, it quite is simplifying issues, as all of us comprehend that there are different components in touch in why countries circulate to warfare, yet at this element and time in background, oil is the tie that binds maximum if not all of those different components. I completely disagree with the thought flex gas autos are the respond, as you will basically be paying for and advertising one flamable for yet another and could in the tip basically further entangle peoples on a regular basis lives with the genuine undertaking which isn't oil in step with say, yet potential. you're able to, in spite of assertion to the choice, decrease into international food aspects in a manner that could desire to assure warfare even speedier than oil itself ever could desire to. I agree that option could desire to be stepped forward, yet i think that the respond in the very short term is a extra useful use of present day sources till the subsequent technologies is perfected. for occasion, we desire extra useful make the main of our image voltaic, wind, hydroelectric, organic gas and nuclear potential in a manner that fairly cuts our dependence on oil be it distant places or kin.

No, considering there were no aircraft, a carrier would have been pointless.

There were, but they were quickly wiped out by the orbital death rays.
