Are parole officers allowed to give out information on parolees to just anyone?
Are parole officers allowed to give out info on parolees? Such as If they passed drug test, or up to date fees, or location/travel passes. Are they allowed to give the answers to these question to just anyone? Like a mom brother neighbor friend or stranger?

One likes to believe that certain rights to privacy exist between parole agents and their "cases." It is reasonable to feel confidant that a professional person, mindful of their duties and responsibilities would as a matter of course consider confidentiality of their parolee's file to be ... confidential. However, being a civil servant they also consider your interaction with other people to be a part of your parole, and if a party meets the personal or legal criteria for that agent, they may share that information with the interested party. Even if the parole agent gets somewhat liberal with the release of sensitive information - well too f-ing bad! They will not even receive so much as a reprimand and if you try to get them in trouble ... expect some extra effort on the agent's behalf to single you out for additional scrutiny!
We are not here to consider whether drug laws are misguided, or if a drug user's personal consumption has no bearing on society - if you are convicted of a crime, and given conditions of parole in lieu of doing the time ... DEAL WITH IT ! ! !
Good luck.

No they are not allowed. If the parolee gives rights to someone else for checking up on them or the court orders it, then they can. Usually it's all confidential with the parole officer and the court. The release of the parolee's info without authorization is against the law.

my dad brother and one of my dad's ex girlfriends were all on parole at one time or another. if some one calls your officer and asks a question they will ask who they are to the parolee and why they want to know. and it will go from there. for example if someone you know hates you or wants to make your life miserable you need to give your p.o. there name and relation to you. so if that person calls he/she will look at your file and know to not give any answers but lets say your land lord calls and there is a strict no drug policy in order for you to stay there then your p.o. can ( and usually will) give them the results of a drug test. you can ask your p.o. to not revel any info. most i have noticed don't usually give out info to just any one but they can. hope this helps.
